VW Scirocco GT 2.0TSI Available for Order in the UK

The new Scirocco is available for order at VW’s retailers across the UK today with prices for the new car, which goes on sale on 1 September, starting at £20,940 for the launch model with a 200Hp 2.0-litre TSI engine. In early in 2009, VW will add a further two engines to the Scirocco’s line-up: a 1.4-litre TSI 160Hp petrol and a 140Hp 2.0-litre TDI diesel unit. VW UK predicts sales of 3,350 Sciroccos this year, rising to around 9,000 in 2009 when the full line-up is available. -Continued

The Scirocco will be offered with two trims, standard and GT. The launch model is only available as a GT, with standard equipment including ABS with ESP, six airbags, touchscreen CD autochanger, climate control, 18-inch ‘Interlagos’ alloy wheels, front foglights and a multifunction steering wheel among a host of other items. Options include a panoramic tilt sunroof, leather trim, touchscreen satellite navigation and the dual-clutch DSG gearbox (£1,330).
