VIDEO: 2011 Audi A1 Shows its Colors, gets Distinctive Wasabi Green Accent for the Interior


In anticipation of the next video of the 2011 A1 mini concerning a test drive with Bayern Munich's soccer stars that is scheduled for release at the end of this week, we bring you this far less interesting film with Jana Bonkova, a color and trim designer at the German firm.

Bonkova puts us to sleep informs us about a distinctive Wasabi Green accent color that will be available for the A1's interior. In case you didn't know, Wasabi is a strong flavored Japanese type of horseradish with a characteristic green color.

"We use wasabi paste for meals to improve the flavor – but only in small amounts," Bonkova said. "It's the same with the A1. Wasabi Green is used selectively to create accents, such as in details like seams. We want to use this color to appeal to people who simply want something new and fresh."
