Green Overdrive: Peek at the Official Plug-In Prius Prototype

In this weeks episode of GigaOM TV’s Green Overdrive show, Katie Fehrenbacher takes the official Toyota plug-in Prius prototype for a drive.

With a larger Li-ion Battery pack replacing the standard none plug in NiMH battery the Plug in Prius has an electric-only range of up to 12.5 miles at speeds of up to 62mph.

Due out in 2012, the Prius PHV delivers 108.6mpg (combined cycle) according to official tests.
