Large Car Sales In America - August 2015 YTD
Full-size sedans from volume automakers with luxury-like price tags and, sometimes, midsize-like space, aren't popular. And they're increasingly unpopular.
Americans registered nearly 50,000 of these cars in August 2014, but fewer than 43,000 in August 2015.

During the first eight months of 2014, Ford sold nearly 47,000 total copies of the Taurus, including the Taurus Police Interceptor. During the same period one year later, Taurus sales are just a tick over 34,000 units, a 28% decline.
Impala volume is down 22%. The Kia Cadenza has tumbled 38%. Nissan Maxima sales, which should rebound as the new model launches, were down 30% in August 2015.
LaCrosse, 300, Charger, Azera, Avalon: they're all failing to match 2014's output in the U.S.
At this stage a year ago, many of these cars were failing to match 2013's year-to-date output: LaCrosse, Impala, 300, Charger, Taurus, Azera, and Avalon.

* Hyundai USA, not GoodCarBadCar, chooses to combine sales figures for the Genesis sedan and Genesis Coupe, forcing us to include the Genesis with these volume-brand cars on pricing grounds before we even get to the "brand status" issue.
GCBC isn't here to break down segments, an impossible task for any group, but to display sales data for the sake of comparison. The more ways sales data can be displayed, the better.
