Canada Car Sales Rankings By Model - September 2015 YTD
Through the first three quarters of 2015, Canadian sales of this large volume brand sedans have increased marginally, but that's no reflection on the health of the category now. Instead, the decline during the first three quarters of 2014 was simply so sharp that 2015 appears healthier than it actually is.
Total volume in the category is down by more than 3400 units compared with the first nine months of 2013. Much of 2015's gains, in comparison with 2014, come from the arrival of a new product, the eighth-generation Nissan Maxima.
In Nissan Canada's showrooms, Maxima volume has improved by 497 units so far this year. The category as a whole is up by only 285 sales.

* Genesis refers only to the sedan, not the coupe. For Canadian purposes - Hyundai USA doesn't yet breakdown sales figures for the sedan and much less costly coupe - the Genesis will now be shown with both these volume brands, with which Hyundai is a direct competitor, and midsize luxury cars, with which the Genesis competes.
GCBC isn't here to break down segments, an impossible task for any group, but to display sales data for the sake of comparison. The more ways sales data can be displayed, the better.
