Small And Midsize Luxury Car Sales In Canada - September 2015 YTD

In September 2015, for the third consecutive month, the best-selling premium brand car in Canada was the BMW 3-Series.

Year-to-date, the 3-Series trails its chief rival, Mercedes-Benz's C-Class, by 750 sales.

BMW does, of course, have the benefit of selling thousands of 3-Series offshoots. 4-Series volume is up 55% to 3877 sales through the first nine months of 2015.

Yet while Mercedes-Benz's C-Class is soaring, its big brother, the E-Class, is tumbling. 

And while combined 3-Series/4-Series sales are up 10%, the 5-Series is, like the E-Class, down 20%.

‡ The XTS, K900, and Equus aren't listed here because they're not massive - they are - but because their price points position them much more closely to, for example, the Mercedes-Benz E-Class than the S-Class. Genesis sales figures here do not include sales of the Genesis Coupe (as Hyundai's U.S. Genesis sales figures do), making the comparison with premium brand vehicles much more valid.
