Top 13 Best-Selling Pickup Trucks In America - October 2015 YTD

The Toyota Tacoma-led small/midsize pickup truck segment grew by 31% to 29,471 units in October 2015, a U.S. year-over-year sales improvement of nearly 7000 sales.

Pickup sales continue to be dominated by full-size trucks, however, sales of which increased 4% to 186,995 units in October 2015, an increase of more than 7700 units.

The Ford F-Series continues to be America's top-selling line of pickup trucks, but GM's identical full-size twins – Silverado and Sierra – outsold the F-Series by 4668 units in October 2015 and by 42,774 units in the first ten months of 2015. Not since 2009 have the GM twins outsold the F-Series.

Full-size trucks accounted for 85.7% of the pickups sold in America over the first ten months of 2015. That's down from 89.2% during the same period in 2014. The midsize Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon, newly introduced last fall, now make up 4.6% of the truck market.
