Large SUV Sales In America - February 2016 YTD

2015 Chevrolet Suburban
American sales of full-size SUVs – body-on-frame, truck-based utilities – continued to decline in Febuary 2016. Seven volume brand nameplates combined for a 2% loss, an unsuccessful follow-up to January's 6% loss and calendar year 2015's 5% decline.

GM continues to be the major player in the segment, grabbing 72% market share in February 2016 despite losing 1768 Suburban and Tahoe sales at Chevrolet. GM's quartet owned 77% of the segment in February 2015.

Through the first one-sixth of 2016, sales of the GM foursome, Ford's Expedition, the Nissan Armada, and Toyota Sequoia are down 4%. 

After producing 4.8% of all U.S. SUV/crossover sales in America during the first two months of 2015, their share of the SUV/CUV market is down to 4.2% in 2016.
