Large Luxury SUV Sales In Canada - June 2016 YTD

In an unusually high-volume month for GM Canada's more affordable full-size SUVs, their upmarket Cadillac Escalade siblings also reported massive year-over-year Canadian sales increases.

Total Escalade volume jumped 53% to 297 units as regular-wheelbase Escalade sales climbed above 100 units for an 11th consecutive month; as the long-wheelbase Escalade ESV outsold its smaller twin by seven units: 152 to 145.

The Escalade wasn't the only high-priced SUV to produce a significant year-over-year improvement in June 2016. Infiniti QX80 volume jumped 63%, the Lexus LX570 was up 133%, and Mercedes-Benz G-Class sales rose 15%. Land Rover Canada added five Range Rover sales, as well, and is up 6% year-to-date.

As Mercedes-Benz Canada transitions out of the GL into the new 2017 GLS-Class, sales slid 15% in June. 

But the big story among large luxury SUVs was at Cadillac, where Escalade ESV sales climbed higher in June than in all of calendar year 2013.
